Selection for the program is highly competitive. Students will be evaluated on their academics (GPA & test scores), athletics and extracurricular activities. To compete for a position in this prestigious program, you should have the following:

• 3.0 GPA or above (on an unweighted 4.0 scale)

One or more of the following tests with the indicated minimum scores:

• PSAT Verbal-53/Math-52/Writing Score (no minimum)
• PLAN 23 Composite
• SAT Verbal-530/Math-520/Writing Score (no minimum)
• ACT English-23/Math-23/Reading-23/Scientific Reasoning-23

Resume

In addition to the application, a resume outlining accomplishments and desire to attend the Academy is required. The format is as follows:

1. Academic Achievements
2. Athletic Achievements
3. Civic Involvement
4. Work/Job Experience
5. Leadership Positions (e.g., athletic team captain, high school government position, boy/girl scouts, etc.)

Bullet statements under each heading are highly recommended. However, we will accept an essay-type format that includes all the above headings.

We highly recommend you type the resume in a Word document; then cut and paste the document in the portion of the application when requested.
