| Easy? No. Rewarding? Extremely. There will
be a rigorous schedule. Extremely high expectations. And strict rules
of conduct. But there will also be classes taught by top professors.
The opportunity to learn to fly. And the atmosphere where your child
will develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
Cadets adhere to a hectic schedule. Time away from the Academy
during their first year will be minimal. After the first year, Cadets
earn more and more freedoms. But the structure and demands remain
throughout the Academy experience.
Basic Cadet Training, or BCT, is a rigorous five-week program
meant to introduce new Cadets to military life. It’s a demanding
experience - physically, emotionally and mentally.
This is where Cadets learn to become officers. Subjects taught
include military strategy, doctrine, heritage and professionalism
to name just a few.
Every Cadet who enters the Academy is presented with numerous
opportunities to take part in the flying experience. Some are voluntary,
others are mandatory.
Our Cadets work hard, but they also find time to relax and unwind.
There are a variety of activities, both on the campus and in the
surrounding Colorado Springs area.
